I organised a stag party for about 25 people at the Ballyhoura Luxury hostel. Honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made. I had high expectations because of the reviews I'd read and the dealing I'd had with the lovely Seamus and Teresa beforehand, but the experience we had surpassed them all! The friendly welcome,thoughtfulness, food that was cooked for us, the quality of the place,faciliities, furniture, design, affordability! - all amazing.

I rarely write reviews, let alone 5 star ones, but Seamus and Teresa and the wonderful Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel thoroughly deserve it.

This was my second time to stay in this crème de la crème of hostels. As usual Teresa and Seamus were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough to accommodate our group. I had booked the hostel for our group of 22 coming for a hen party. Nothing was an issue and cost was so reasonable considering the very high quality food and accommodation provided. The last time I stayed here was in 2016 and in those 2 years- it still looked like the Hostel was brand new. To say the place is pristine is an understatement.

Our group ranged in ages from 25 to 69 with some having never stayed in a hostel before and they absolutely loved their experience. They were so impressed with the quality and level of comfort of the beds and pillows in particular! We had a never ending supply of food that was cooked for us by Teresa and Seamus. I highly recommend the breakfasts and the BBQ in particular. Teresa and Seamus also supply local Ballyhoura Apple Juice and this went down a treat at breakfast time. On Saturday evening, we sat outside for 2 hours eating, drinking and watching the sun go down while Teresa & Séamus BBQ'd burgers, chicken wings, ribs, butternut squash and the list goes on. We were in our element. We went around to the local pubs too on the Saturday night and they were ready for us! We had a great sing –off with the locals in Healy’s pub and they were all so welcoming.

Kilfinane really is a gem of a place. It is a short drive away from Ballyhass Lakes Activity Centre too where we spent our day doing archery, zip-lining and enjoying the new aqua-park there. Apart from that there is so much else to do as well even locally in Kilfinane. Teresa and Séamus have plenty of information and booklets for you to pour over as you decide what to do there. They even organised a local man to swing by with his horse and trap and take the Hen and her bridal party for a jaunt up the town on the Sunday morning. It really finished the weekend off with a bang!

I visited this time as part of a Hen Party and also had my mam, sister, 2 aunts and 2 cousins with me. We all agreed that we’ll have to organise a family reunion of some sort and bring everyone back to Ballyhoura Luxury Hostel because quite frankly....we’re just itching to get back asap! Teresa and Séamus are really doing the local town proud. Not only that- they are doing the Irish tourism sector very proud too and I think they are the answer to the Céad Míle Fáilte tourists are always looking for when they visit our lovely country.

Seamus and Theresa you were the perfect hosts. People may look at the Ballyhoura Hostel and think "Hostel..not for me" but" don't look at the mantelpiece when poking the fire" this a first class location spotlessly clean in a really beautiful setting. Myself and 15 other scotsmen descended on this place for a Gary's stag do and had a fabulous time made all the more special by Seamus and Theresa. thank s to you both and to the locals in Kilfinane. well worth the visit and you will go back.
